Born in London, Ontario,
raised in Winnipeg and Fort Churchill, Manitoba as well as Burnaby,
British Columbia, Lynda seemed destined to travel. She lived in South
Africa, the U.S.A., Australia and Singapore and visited England, Spain and
Holland. Lynda now lives in Lundbreck, Alberta, north of Waterton on
Highway 3 through the Crowsnest Pass between Alberta and British Columbia.
Her travels allowed Lynda to
study art and art making in many places in the world: the Vancouver School
of Art, Montgomery County College in Philadelphia, Mount Royal College in
Calgary, the Caulfield Institute in Australia and the University of
Alberta. Her educational
background is in painting, drawing, art history, interior design and
architectural rendering as well as sculpture, photography and printmaking.
Lynda’s oil paintings
speak to an intimate relationship with the landscape, an
up-close-and-personal perspective of the vivid colors and unique forms
found in the foothills and mountain passes. She is known for her “straight-from-the-tube” colors and
undulating forms.
Lynda is a member of the
Alberta Society of Artists, the Crowsnest Pass Allied Arts Association,
and the Alberta Community Art Clubs Association.

Artist’s
Statement
Realism is not my goal, but rather, I strive for a painterly free style,
using dramatic color, to create a mood of mystery and wonder. Passion is
important. Painting the
underlying truth about all things is as essential to me as painting what I
can see.
